Customize your DVR settings with options such as scheduled recording, continuous recording, motion detected recording (meaning the DVR will only record when something out of the ordinary is setting off the motion detector), or a combination of modes can be selected. The cameras provided in this kit offer crystal color video in the daytime with the 1/4" Sony CCD image sensor, and great black and white video in the darkness with the 24 built in IR LEDS giving you up to 65ft of coverage.

Once you get over the hurdle of running all the cables (60/ft per cable is not as long as you think, so order some extras) you'll be glad you did it. Being able to remotely see your house via your phone is priceless.
I went with the CCD over the CMOS cameras, and so far am glad I did.
Good system for the $$.. I will likely upgrade to a 16CH system so I'll be able to add more cameras.
